Concrete

History of Concrete:

  • Looking back in history, you will find that the Babylonians and the Assyrians used clay as cement or a bonding substance. The Egyptians used gypsum cement along with lime.
  • John Smeaton, a British engineer, in 1756 was known to have created the first modern concrete (hydraulic cement). He did this by adding a mixture of cement and powered brick, as well as pebbles as a coarse aggregate.
  • Joseph Aspdin, British inventor, invented Portland cement in 1824. Until today, this has remained the popular cement used in concrete production. By burning clay and ground limestone together – Joseph Aspdin created what is known to be as the first artificial cement in its true form.
  • The gray color of the cement was due to this process of burning, which changed the chemical properties of the materials. Thus, Aspdin created much cement that was much stronger than what the regular crushed limestone created.

Once in the hands of a visionary homeowner, the landscaping is the most important finishing touch to your hard-earned real estate investment.

We know that you will be featuring the finest gardening in the state of Nevada.  But what about the other finishing touches? Do you agree that your landscaping theme should tie your exterior to your interior? Well, since you are a discriminating homeowner then obviously you would like to have continuity for your home, wouldn’t you?

The first step for your design should be to analyze what your interior decor says about you. When people come and visit you and are wandering about your home, are they saying that you are warm and welcoming, classic and stylish, modern, or even an eclectic mixture of all perhaps? Once you have the basic elements in mind, it’s time to make a choice.

FINISHING STYLES

  • Stamped Concrete
  • Colored concrete
  • Broom finish
  • Hard trowel (smooth)
  • Exposed aggregate (small rocks in the concrete)
  • Stained Concrete (indoor floors or outdoor, to give color to the concrete)

Landscaping

Landscaping refers to any activity that modifies the visible features of an area of land, including:

  1. living elements, such as flora or fauna; or what is commonly referred to as gardening, the art and craft of growing plants with a goal of creating a beautiful environment within the landscape.
  2. natural elements such as landforms, terrain shape and elevation, or bodies of water;
  3. human elements such as structures, buildings, fences or other material objects created and/or installed by humans; and
  4. abstract elements such as the weather and lighting conditions.

Landscaping is both science and art, and requires good observation and design skills. A good landscaper understands the elements of nature and construction, and blends them accordingly.

ADEPT LANDSCAPING TAKING IDEAS TO REALITY

Turning your landscaping ideas into a professional and comprehensive landscape plan is Adept’s Landscaping specialty.   Professionally landscaping your home will add value and enjoyment throughout the years.   The process begins with an on-site consultation, which you share your ideas as well as your functional needs with us.

We will then create a landscape plan that will be both practical and aesthetically pleasing. Upon request, you may have our Estimating department put together an estimate of the cost of implementing your new plan in phases or as a whole. When you choose to implement your new plan, our team of installation specialists will make the plan a beautiful reality.

The Steps To Ensure A Perfect Quality Landscape

Step One: A meeting is set up with one of our consultants to go over basic needs and find out what the best possible beginning solution may be. In this meeting, we discuss the functions, needs, and wants regarding your landscape. At this point, we will determine if you will need an Architectural Drawing and discuss the cost of the Architectural Drawing.   If a Drawing is needed, we will start with a conceptual drawing of all ideas and wish list.

Step Two:  Then, we will schedule a second meeting with you to go over our landscape design. In this meeting, you will either approve the landscape conceptual design or send it back for revision. Our goal in this meeting is to make sure everything is OK for the final drawing. We can then create a Final Master Plan or make additional revisions to the drawing.

Step Three: After the landscape design Final Master Plan is approved, we complete a Contract for Installation and schedule your landscape design project.
